Job Description:
• Develop and update accurate standard costing. Maintain and verify costing data by entering, reviewing, and analyzing historical information.
• Update raw material standards monthly with forecasted costs from purchasing.
• Ensure running speeds and staffing levels are accurate in recipes and process specifications.
• Review purchase price variances and material variances to ensure Standard
• Costs and Bills of Material are accurate.
• Develop cost estimates for new products, restages, and costsavings initiatives.
• Partner with Purchasing, R&D, and Manufacturing to support cost approvals, labour variance monitoring, and postlaunch cost appraisals.
• Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational financial reporting, including PPV (Purchase Price Variance), labour variance, giveaway, yield, and production volume, inventory reporting, and manufacturing overhead expense analysis.
• Partner with the Operational Controller to support costsaving initiatives.
• Reconcile P&L transactions by comparing and correcting data (COS and manufacturing variances).
• Analyze expenses and prepare journal entries related to utilities, hourly labour and inventory reconciliations.
• Support the annual budgeting process.
Requirements:
• CPA designation required
• 5-7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the food or meat processing industry preferred.
• Experience with ERP and cost accounting systems.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work additional hours during monthend as required.
