Occupational Safety and Health Administrator Job

Identifying, evaluating, and mitigating workplace hazards to prevent accidents, injuries,
and illnesses, ensuring compliance with regulations, developing safety programs (like
training and emergency plans), inspecting environments, and promoting a culture of
health and safety across all sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

 Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment: Inspecting workplaces, equipment, and
practices to find potential risks (chemical, physical, ergonomic) and assessing
their severity.
 Safety Program Development: Creating and implementing policies, procedures,
and training for employees on safe work practices.
 Compliance & Reporting: Ensuring adherence to government health and safety
laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA in the US, provincial bodies in Canada).
 Incident Investigation: Investigating accidents and near misses to determine root
causes and prevent recurrence.
 Employee Training: Conducting safety orientations, specialized training (e.g.,
First Aid, WHMIS/GHS), and promoting safety awareness.
 Health Monitoring: Overseeing programs related to employee well-being,
exposure limits, and health surveillance.

Typical Duties:

 Conducting regular site audits and inspections.
 Developing emergency response plans and drills.
 Managing safety data sheets (SDS) and chemical inventories.
 Collaborating with management and workers to improve safety.

Required Skills:

 Attention to detail.

Pay: $19 – 24/hour
